更多The very place where the museum is located is closely linked with the history of Hanover: From the high banks of the Leine, which probably lent the name to the young "Honovere" , the city was founded 1100 years ago. Tones of the late Middle Ages in the semicircular Beginen Tower and the remains of the city wall made of rough hewn quarry stone stand witness.

Exotic landscapes, over 2,600 animals and great shows: discover the fascinating world of animals. In the four exciting worlds of the zoo (African river landscape of Zambezi, Gorilla Mountain, jungle palace, Lower-Saxon Meyer's Court) you can expect some extraordinary encounters, unforgettable impressions and above all, lots of fun for the entire family.

The city tour leads you to the most impressive sights of Hanover. Getting on and off the bus is possible at every stop.
This round trip will take you to opulent buildings such as the New Town Hall, show you the Old Town with its picturesque alleys as well as Hanover's attractive green spaces such as the famous Royal Gardens of Herrenhausen. It is also possible to book a basic round trip.

The Hanover Christmas Market is in fact several markets: traditional in the Old Town, Finnish on the Ballhofplatz, with Finnish specialities, Vegan in the Steintor and Medieval on the Leibnizufer. Get ready for Christmas cookies, crêpes, mulled wine, hot punch and lots more besides at over 170 stalls and stands.

On five evenings in summer, the world's most renowned pyrotechnicians compete against one another in the Great Garden to put on an impressive firework extravaganza with both set and individual routines.
28th June to 7th July 2024
This fair is the largest marksmen's funfair in the world, with a history extending back to the 15th century. Every year, this ten-day event plays host to more than 1.5 million visitors on an area of around ten hectares on Hanover's massive Schützenplatz. The Lüttje Lage, a draught beer with schnapps chaser, is the fair's traditional beverage.
